My client, Ajay Marshall, is looking to collaborate with more musical artists as a photographer and music video director. He meets music industry professionals at events and shows and wants to give them somewhere to go other than his Instagram, where he prefers to post more about his family and enjoys the ability to take social media breaks without missing out on opportunities.

Ajay takes a lot of photos for music artists that are used on album covers and other marketing materials. His portfolio includes landscape, vertical, and square photos. Because of the inconsistent sizing we used a masonry grid, which we found was the best option to display the images. Another challenge was organizing the images so that they look good next to each other - mainly spacing out images with the same color scheme or same model/artist.

For the music video portion of Ajay's portfolio he wanted to link to Youtube videos of his work, but he wanted the thumbnails to be moving images (gifs). Through the process of creating gifs from clips of his music videos, we found that the effect could be created and have a much faster load time (because of file size) with a file that uses a modern video format like mp4.
